JK Civil Society Chairman, former Sikh Coordination Committee Chief join PDP in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 21 : The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday welcomed two prominent socio-political personalities of Jammu and Kashmir into its fold during a joining ceremony held at the party headquarters in Srinagar.

PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti presided over the event as she formally inducted Mohammad Altaf Wani, Chairman of JK Civil Society and a businessman from Chanpora, along with Master Pushpinder Singh Bali, former Chairman of the Sikh Coordination Committee from Tral.

Welcoming the new entrants, Mehbooba Mufti said their decision to join the PDP reflects growing trust in the party’s approach. She reiterated that the PDP has consistently stood for the people’s rights, dignity, and democratic aspirations.

Both Wani and Bali, who arrived with a large number of supporters and local political activists, expressed full confidence in the PDP’s vision and in Mehbooba Mufti’s leadership.

The ceremony was attended by senior PDP leaders including General Secretary Mohammad Khursheed Aalam, Women’s Wing President Anjum Fazili, Party Spokesperson Mohammed Iqbal Tramboo, District President Srinagar Abdul Qayoom Bhat, District President Pulwama GM Mir Shahori, Media Coordinator Bashir Beigh, Social Media Head Syed Tajamul Islam, and Dr. Ali Mohammad, among others.

PDP leaders said the fresh inductions signal increasing public faith in the party’s policies and its continued commitment to peace, dignity, and democratic rights in Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
