Kupwara, Dec 30: The Court of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kupwara, on Monday granted bail to several accused persons lodged in Sub Jail Humhama in connection with a Central Bureau of Investigation case registered under FIR No. RC 482025S0008.
As per the court order issued on December 30, 2025, bail has been granted in favour of Aijaz Ahmad Naik of Pulwama, Riyaz Ahmad Mir of Kupwara, Jahangeer Ahmad Beigh of Rationpora Kralpora, Mohammad Younis Khan of Gugjarati Laspora Sogam, Shakir Hussain Khoja of Chamkot Karnah, Tanveer Ahmad Malla of Wangipora Payeen Sumbal Bandipora, Altaf Hussain Bhat of Shalgund Lalpora and Shahnawaz Ahmad Deedad of Goos Kupwara.
The accused are facing charges under Sections 120-B read with 323, 325, 330, 331 and 343 of the Indian Penal Code. The court directed that all accused shall furnish bail and surety bonds amounting to Rs 1 lakh each to the satisfaction of the court.
The bail order lays down several strict conditions, including that none of the accused shall leave the territorial jurisdiction of the court without prior permission. Those holding passports have been directed to deposit the same before the court. The accused have also been barred from intimidating or influencing prosecution witnesses or tampering with evidence in any manner.
The court further directed that the accused must remain present before the trial court on each and every date of hearing unless exempted. It has been made clear that any violation of the bail conditions will be viewed seriously and may result in cancellation of bail.
Following the acceptance of bail and surety bonds, jail authorities have been directed to release the accused from Sub Jail Humhama, provided they are not required in any other case.
