BSNL Live Streams Pratham Pooja of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, Enhances 4G Connectivity Across Holy Routes

SRINAGAR: 12 JUNE: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the pioneering telecom service provider of Government of India with its unwavering commitment to extend the dividends of digital connect to across the length and breadth of our country, arranged for the live streaming of the Pratham Pooja (first prayer) of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. This prayer was conducted today, June 11, 2025, at the holy cave shrine amidst chants of hymns and devotional fervor, marking the commencement of this year’s pilgrimage. BSNL is the first telecom company in the country to provide telecom facilities at the Holy Cave since 2010 and has since been strengthening the telecom network enroute to the Holy Cave with its state-of-the-art technology in these treacherous terrains without fail.

On this occasion, Shri Arvind Pandey, Principal General Manager, BSNL Kashmir, informed that BSNL has upgraded 67 BTS (towers) enroute to the Holy Cave with state-of-the-art 4G technology for seamless mobile connectivity for the Yatries. The connectivity has been strengthened along both axis  the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. BSNL remains committed to providing uninterrupted mobile and data services to the yatries, and SIM cards shall be available for the yatries at Baltal and Pahalgam camps, as well as at the Bhagwati Nagar Jammu base camp.

The PGM further added that the implementation of its state-of-the-art “Atmanirbhar” 4G network project is in full swing, marking a significant milestone in advancing telecommunications infrastructure and bridging the digital divide. This ambitious initiative aims to provide high-speed internet access to underserved and rural communities, empowering businesses, educational institutions, and individuals with seamless connectivity. The deployment of 4G technology ensures faster data speeds, improved call quality, and enhanced mobile broadband services, fostering economic growth and digital innovation. Remote, uncovered, and bordering villages that have lately been deprived of telecommunication facilities have been covered in this prestigious project across the Kashmir valley.
