DPAP expels senior leader for corruption practices

Srinagar, May 01 : Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) on Monday expelled former MLA Sopore Abdul Rasheed Dar from basic membership of the party, accusing him of selling tickets and corrupting DPAP members for commission.

A meeting of the party was held wherein it came to fore that Dar is allegedly selling tickets and was corrupting the party workers for Apni Party where from he used to get the commission per head, said a senior DPAP leader Taj Mohiuddin.

“Dar has taken money in lakhs for Bandipora and Rafiabad tickets,” he said.

Abdul Rasheed Dar said he is not aware about the expulsion.

“I got to know about my expulsion from the party from media,” he said.

About the allegations, he said that party chief can better explain it.

“Ghulam Nabi Azad is much experienced leader and this decision would be purely based on some proof,” Dar said—(KNO)
