Baramulla, Dec 19: Aarifeen School of Excellence (ASE) reached a significant milestone this week by hosting the Finland Math Olympiad (FMO) from December 16 to 18, 2024. Held in collaboration with Eduten India, this groundbreaking event brought together over 80 students from Grades 2, 3, and 4, offering them a platform to demonstrate their mathematical skills and problem-solving abilities.

The Olympiad saw participation from 22 Grade 4 students, 35 Grade 3 students, and 26 Grade 2 students, all of whom showcased their talent and hard work. This was ASE’s first-ever collaboration with the globally renowned Eduten Playground, a digital learning platform developed by Eduten Ltd., a spin-off from the University of Turku, Finland.

Eduten Coordinator at ASE, Ms. Shehla Shafat, expressed her pride in the students’ performance, attributing their success to the transformative impact of Eduten’s gamified learning approach.

“The Eduten program has significantly improved our students’ calculation speed and problem-solving skills,” said Ms. Shehla. “It’s inspiring to see how this innovative platform has empowered our young learners to excel in such a competitive environment.”

She also praised the dedication of the Eduten program teachers—Ms. Nuzhat, Ms. Nighat, and Ms. Rafiya—whose efforts ensured the success of the program and prepared the students for this prestigious event.

Ms. Shehla announced that ASE plans to make such Olympiads a regular feature, underscoring the school’s commitment to nurturing academic excellence and equipping students with the tools to thrive in competitive settings.

Principal of ASE, Dr. Hanan Khalid Khan, shared his pride in the students’ achievements and congratulated all participants for their exceptional performance.

“Eduten Playground, which has earned accolades like the UNESCO ICT for Education Prize and the UNICEF Blue Unicorn Award, is a game-changer in math education,” said Dr. Hanan. “At ASE, we’re committed to adopting innovative educational tools to inspire our students to think critically and creatively.”

Dr. Hanan emphasized ASE’s vision of fostering excellence and a love for lifelong learning, highlighting that events like the Finland Math Olympiad prepare students to contribute positively to the global academic community.

“We look forward to hosting more such opportunities in the future, ensuring our students continue to shine on the global stage,” he added.

The Finland Math Olympiad at ASE was not only a celebration of young talent but also a step toward embracing cutting-edge education practices, reinforcing the school’s position as a leader in innovative learning.
