Washington, Apr 7 (UNI) US president Donald Trump has issued yet another threat to Tehran of wiping out a “whole civilization” in Iran as his deadline to open the Strait of Hormuz looms.

His latest threat on social media appears to show  his excessive desparation and frustration.

“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again”, he begins, in a post on his Truth Social platform.

“I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen”, he continued.

“WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!”.

Iran, meanwhile, has countered Trump, saying that it will not hesitate to respond in kind if the US attacks civilian facilities.

The US President has issued an ultimatum, threatening to strike Iranian power plants and bridges in mere hours if Iran does not agree to open the Strait of Hormuz.

“We will do to the infrastructure of America and its partners what will deprive them and their allies of the region’s oil and gas for many years”, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement carried by Iranian state media.

“American leaders lack the ability to calculate the critical assets that would be within range of our fighters if they attacked our infrastructure”, it added. “Our response will extend beyond the region if the US military crosses our red lines.”

Trump issued an ultimatum to Iran, with a deadline of 8 pm ET Tuesday (3:30 am Wednesday Tehran time) for Tehran to reopen the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz, or face heavy bombing and “hell.”

Trump has threatened to take out Iran “in one night” if it fails to make an “acceptable” deal before the deadline, including ensuring the free flow of energy through the Gulf.

At a White House news conference, he said he believed “reasonable” leaders in Iran were negotiating in “good faith,” but the outcome remained uncertain.

Trump said the US has a plan under which “every bridge and power plant in Iran could be destroyed by midnight Tuesday.”

He said that the Iranian people “might” ultimately benefit from freedom following the attacks.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a warning on social media in Farsi, cautioning people in Iran not to take trains today.

In a post shared on the military’s Farsi social media account, it urges people in Iran, “for the sake of your security,” to “refrain from using and traveling by train” throughout the country “until 21:00 Iran time.” The post adds that “presence on trains and near railway lines endangers your life.”

The Israeli military also reported completing a wave of airstrikes targeting “infrastructure in Tehran” linked to the regime and killing people it said were members of Hezbollah. Separately, the military said it had intercepted missiles launched toward Israel by Iran.
