BARAMULLA, AUGUST 02: As part of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Fortnight programme, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today visited Wussan Aglar Pattan where she inspected the Water Supply Scheme constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.95 Crores.
During inspection, Dr Sehrish had a detailed assessment of the status of the Water Supply scheme. She also checked the requisite parameters for providing potable drinking water facilities to the people.
While giving a brief about the functioning of the plant, the DC was apprised that the water treatment plant is in the final stage of completion which will feed potable drinking water to 18545 souls of the area thereby benefitting more than 3000 households.
Dr Sehrish also interacted with the concerned officers and discussed various measures for further streamlining of the plant.
Moreover, the DC while interacting with the peope assured them that the water supply will be provided to them within 15 days.
With regard the Fortnight programme of JJM, the DC said that the objective of the Mission is to bring tap water to every household and it is going to be realized soon in entire J&K. She added that our endeavor is to provide potable water to the people, ensuring both quality and quantity as per the guidelines of the Mission.
