Govt employee shot dead in alleged terror attack in J&K’s Rajouri

Jammu, April 22 (UNI) Ahead of Phase-3 Lok Sabha elections for Rajouri-Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency scheduled on May 7, an employee of Social Welfare Department, was shot dead in an alleged terrorist(s) attack on Monday in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said that a man identified as Mohammad Raziq, 40, resident of Kunda Tope, Shahdara Sharif, district Rajouri received critical injuries when the terrorist(s) fired at his brother, a Territorial Army jawan, who was on leave, outside the mosque in Kunda village of Shahdara Sharief.

Critically injured man, an employee of J&K Social Welfare Department was rushed to the hospital but he succumbed.

The security forces have cordoned off the area and launched the search operation.

The Rajouri-Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency will go to poll on May 7.
