Shereen Bagh Dental College & Hospital Unveils Debut In-House Magazine in Srinagar

Srinagar : In a day filled with excitement & cultural vibrancy, the Socio Cultural/Magazine Committee of Government Dental College, Srinagar, organised an elaborate programme under the patronship of Prof.Dr.Riyaz Farooq (Principal/Dean), with Dr. Shazana Nazir Qazi (Associate Professor) as the Convener, Dr Ajaz Masoodi, Dr Nameeta Kaur and Dr Shafia Sarfi as the members.

In the first half, an elaborate event was organised for the release of the First issue of College Magazine of Government Dental College, Srinagar, “AKS 2023”, a labour of passion and dedication of the of the faculty and students of the 37 year old esteemed institution, which stands as a testament to the intellectual and creative prowess of GDC Srinagar. It is a treasure trove that beautifully captures the essence of the College, evidence to the hardwork and dedication of the students who have poured their hearts into creating something truly remarkable. 

The Honourable Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, Professor Nilofer Khan graced the Magazine Release as the Chief Guest. Amongst the guests gracing the event were Prof.Dr.Masood Tanvir, Principal GMC Srinagar, Prof.Dr.Irfan Robbani, Principal SKIMS MC, Prof Dr Iffat Hassan Shah, Principal GMC Handwara and Prof.Dr Ruby Reshi, Principal GMC Baramulla and Medical Superintendent, Dr Mirzada Bilal. 

Esteemed Heads of Departments & faculty of GDC Srinagar, staff and 100 Postgraduate and 150 Undergraduate students, House Surgeons, Interns and Paradental Staff also attended the grand event showcasing the talent and enthusiasm of the dental students. 

In her address, the esteemed Vice Chancellor expressed how dental care has developed tremendously and the contributions of GDC Srinagar in establishing a benchmark in dental care in the valley.  

The second half of the day witnessed an Orientation Day and welcome for 60 Undergraduates and 30 Postgraduates. More than 400 people attended the event. 

The release of the magazine and the vibrant Orientation Day will undoubtedly remain etched in the memories of all who attended, setting a high standard for future celebrations in the academic year, reads a statement
