Srinagar, April 22: Director Ayush, Jammu & Kashmir,Dr. Ajay Kumar Tikoo, visited Government Unani Hospital (GUH) Shalteng to review the functioning of the institution and assess the quality of Ayush healthcare services being delivered to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, Dr. Tikoo conducted a comprehensive inspection of key hospital sections, including the OPD, IPD, pharmacy, regimenal therapy units and diagnostic facilities. He also interacted directly with patients to gather first-hand feedback on treatment and service delivery.He appreciated the dedication of the hospital staff and expressed satisfaction over the growing patient footfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Director held on-the-spot interactions with medical and paramedical staff, reviewing the availability of essential medicines, infrastructure and overall patient care mechanisms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene, ensuring uninterrupted medicine supply and strengthening service delivery systems to improve patient outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the relevance of traditional healing systems, Dr. Tikoo stressed the need for effective promotion of regimenal therapies under Unani medicine, describing them as a vital component of treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that these therapies can significantly support patient recovery when optimally utilized. Director further advocated the integration of yoga interventions, particularly for managing stress-related disorders, to promote a holistic approach to healthcare under the Ayush framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Tikoo also underscored strict adherence to standard treatment protocols, proper documentation and enhanced efficiency in patient care services. He reiterated the need to raise public awareness about the benefits of Unani medicine as an accessible and cost-effective healthcare system.He was accompanied by Dr. Sujad Hussain Shuja, Assistant Director Unani and Dr. Mohammad Sultan Parray, In-charge Government Unani Hospital Shalteng, along with other officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, Dr. Tikoo chaired a review meeting of the Kashmir Division at the Directorate of Ayush, Srinagar. The meeting was attended by District Ayush Officers and District Nodal Officers, where detailed discussions were held on strengthening healthcare services, implementation of ongoing programmes, and improving overall service delivery across the division.<\/p>\n
