SRINAGAR: Kashmir American Society for Healthcare, Medical Education and Research (KASHMER) and Help Poor Voluntary Trust in collaboration with College of Temperate Sericulture (COTS) Mirgund held an awareness camp under the Happy and Healthy Minds project titled Building Resilience: A community United Against Mental Health Struggles and Drug Abuse<\/strong>. The audience included students and faculty of the COTS. Ms Areej Zaffar <\/strong>moderated the program. The session was formally inaugurated by Dr Aabid Khaliq, Asst. prof at the college <\/strong>and the welcome address with words of wisdom was delivered by Prof. K A Sahaf, Dean faculty at COTS.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Syed Riyaz Ahmed Project Head KASHMER <\/strong>shed light on various health related projects launched in collaboration with Help Poor Voluntary Trust in J&K.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speakers Dr Mohd Muzaffar Khan, Consultant Psychologist and Director YDRC, counsellor psychologists Ms Aimen Jan and Mr Aadil Rashid <\/strong>shed light on various aspects of mental health prevalent in the society, esp among students and rising trend substance abuse J&K, and how to ensure a healthy mindset among the students & staff, and drug free institutional environment . <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof M F Baqual <\/strong>summing up activity of the day concluded the session emphasizing the importance of sharing any mental health concerns with families, friends and experts in the concerned subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this regard he also envisioned cooperation between entities regarding organising group sessions and workshops related to various mental health disorders at the COTS.<\/p>\n
