Srinagar, Apr 22 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday visited the Gandbal area of Srinagar to express condolences to the families who lost their kin in a boat capsize tragedy recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six people died and three others including a father-son duo remain missing after a boat carrying nearly two dozen people, including school children, from Gandbal to Batwara, capsized in the Jhelum river here on April 16. A 35-year-old woman and her two school-going twins were among the dead. The search to trace the trio feared dead is still going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMet the family members of the victims who lost their lives in the heartbreaking boat tragedy on April 16 and expressed my deep condolences\u201d, LG posted on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lieutenant Governor also assured all help and support to the bereaved families. “The administration stands shoulder to shoulder with the families”, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
