Srinagar, Feb 07 :\u00a0<\/strong>A civilian, hailing from Amritsar was shot dead while another was injured by terrorists in Shaheed Gunj area of Srinagar, police said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A top official told the news agency\u2014 (KNO) that two persons identified as Amritpal Singh & Rohit\u2014both residents of Amritsar were fired upon by the terrorists in Shaeed Gunj, Srinagar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the official stated that one among them Amritpal Singh has succumbed to his injuries while Rohit has been shifted to hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched to nab the attackers. \u201cThe whole area has been cordoned off,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kashmir Zone Police in a post on X said, \u201c#Terrorists fired upon 2 persons identified as Amritpal Singh & Rohit, R\/O Amritsar at Shaheed Gunj Sgr. In this #terror incident, Amritpal Singh succumbed to his injuries while Rohit has been shifted to Hospital for treatment. Area cordoned off.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities in the SMHS hospital told that one person has been brought to the hospital with bullet wounds, adding that the injured is being treated, and his condition is said to be critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has received a bullet wound in left abdomen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the attack was condemned by the political parties in Jammu & Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
