Qazigund, Jan 25:\u00a0A virtually empty compartment of a passenger train halted at Qazigund Railway Station caught fire on Thursday after a \u2018short circuit\u2019 in the engine, Railway officials said.
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the incident took place when the train (09760) from Budgam to Banihal stopped at Qazigund Railway Station.
\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cPrima facie it was a short circuit in the engine. Smoke started emanating from the compartment that was dissipated using fire extinguishers,\u201d the officials said adding that there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the incident.
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The officials said that there were no passengers in the train at the time of the incident. \u201cThe investigation is ongoing, and the cause of the fire is inconclusive,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
