Srinagar, Dec 07 :\u00a0<\/strong>A police inspector, who was injured in an attack at Eidgah Srinagar on October 29, lost his battle with his life, soon after he was shifted to AIIMS from SKIMS, Soura on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From October 29 and December 7 (39 days), Masroor Ahmad Wani, a young and dedicated police officer, was on life support at SKIMS, Soura. He was airlifted to AIIMS New Delhi for specialized treatment, but lost his battle with the life, a few hours of his shifting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wani was seriously injured as a bullet had stuck in his head. A resident of Eidgah, Narwara, Yechpora Srinagar, the young inspector was shot while he was playing cricket at the Eidgah playground. He has left behind his wife and a little daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A pall of gloom descended Narwara, Yechpora, Srinagar soon after the news of Wani\u2019s death spread with neighbours and relatives flooding his house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe was very friendly and helpful by nature. He was always available for his neighbours,\u201d a neighbour told the news agency\u2014 (KNO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Official sources said that the body of the slain would be brought to Srinagar tomorrow at 11 am. Meanwhile, political leaders of J&K condoled the death of inspector Wani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
