Srinagar, Oct 30 :\u00a0<\/strong>A migrant labourer was shot dead on Monday afternoon by the terrorists in Nowpora Parigam village in Newa area of South Kashmir\u2019s Pulwama district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An official told the news agency\u2014(KNO) that a labourer identified as Mukesh Kumar from Uttar Pradesh was shot at by militants in Nowpora Parigam Pulwama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that the labourer was rushed to the hospital for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead. Meanwhile, police said that the area has been cordoned off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTerrorists fired upon one labourer identified as Mukesh of U.P in Tumchi Nowpora area of #Pulwama, who later on succumbed to his injuries. Area #cordoned off. Further details shall follow,\u201d Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on ‘X’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mukesh was working in a brick kiln and was on way to the bank to send some money to his home, his colleagues said. Mukesh is father of four, they said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, a police spokesman said that at about 12:10 PM today, Police received information about a terror crime incident at Tumchi Nowpora area of Pulwama where terrorists had fired upon an outside labourer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior police officers reached at the terror crime spot. Officers attending the terror crime spot learnt that an outside labourer identified as Mukesh Kumar son of Ganga Prasad resident of Bhatpora, Samadha Uttar Pradesh was found in an injured condition in the orchard area of Tumchi Nowpora, a police spokesman said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead. Preliminary investigation revealed that the said labourer was engaged at B7 Brick Klin at Tumchi Nowpora and had gone to market for purchasing culinary items. While on his way back, he was targeted by the terrorists, injuring him critically,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Police has registered a case under FIR number 293\/2023 under sections 7\/27 IA Act, 16, 18, 20, 23, 39 UAP Act in this regard at PS Pulwama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInvestigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime. Area has been cordoned and search in the area is going on. The area where this terror crime incident has occurred is close to the boundary of District Pulwama & Budgam,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha condoled the killing of a labourer in Pulwama attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lt Governor said the killing of innocent civilian Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, will not go unpunished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI strongly condemn the despicable and cowardly militant attack in Pulwama. Heartfelt condolences to the family of Mukesh Kumar,” he said. “We are firmly resolved to eliminate the militant menace that continues to receive encouragement and reinforcement from across the border,\u201d the Lt Governor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
