These events, comprising of Tug of War, Chess, 100 and 200 Metres Race, Plank Challenge &amp; Lemon Race, were held from 26<sup>th<\/sup> to 29<sup>th<\/sup> of August 2023 in which hundreds of students from different Departments of the College participated. The events were organized by the Department of Physical Education and College Sports Committee. The Inaugural function was held on 26<sup>th<\/sup> of August, which was attended by Principal Amar Singh College, Prof. Sheikh Aijaz Bashir, Convener Sports Committee, Prof. Nayeem Ahmed, Co-Convener, Prof. Ajaz Kanth, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Shabnam Ara, Members of Sports Committee and Ms Ravinder Kour (Physical Director).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"447\" height=\"444\" src=\"https:\/\/theasiaspeaks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/image-6.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1122\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theasiaspeaks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/image-6.png 447w, https:\/\/theasiaspeaks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/image-6-300x298.png 300w, https:\/\/theasiaspeaks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/image-6-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 447px) 100vw, 447px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sheikh Aijaz Bashir highlighted the history &amp; importance of National Sports Day and briefed the students about the value of sports and games for a healthy society. Prof. Ajaz Kanth, Co-Convener Sports Committee, threw light on the benefits of such activities and the importance of celebrating National Sports Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image winners and runners up in different events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof. Basharat Shameem, Member, Sports Committee, while Dr. Jamsheeda Akhter, Member,
