Awantipora, Sept. 19: The Centre for Wellness Health (CWH), in collaboration with the Office of the Provost, Boys Hostel, organized an awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan today.

The aim of the programme was to sensitize hostel residents about the health, psychological, and social consequences of substance abuse. During the session, Dr. Zahida Rasool, Medical Officer, spoke on the medical effects of drug abuse; Ms. Urooj Manzoor, Counsellor at CWH, highlighted its mental and social impact; and Dr. Shaiqa Nasreen, Coordinator CWH, emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in creating a drug-free environment. Dr. Zahid Khaki, Provost Boys Hostel, also interacted with the students and facilitated the discussions.

A documentary screening reinforced the anti-drug message, following which students pledged their commitment to a drug-free campus. The programme formed part of the broader campaign at IUST to make the campus drug-addiction free and to promote a culture of wellness and healthy living among students.
