Srinagar, May 21, 2024 – The BJP Srinagar District team, led by District President Ashok Bhat, held a significant protest today against the District Administration Shopian. The protest was sparked by the administration’s allegedly neglect in safeguarding BJP leader and former Sarpanch Aijaz Ahmed Sheikh, who was tragically killed by terrorists a few days ago. The demonstration took place outside the BJP District Srinagar office located at Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar.

In a statement issued here, BJP is demanding a time-bound inquiry into the District Administration Shopian’s alleged failure to prevent this incident. The party believes that the administration’s negligence led to the death of Aijaz Ahmed Sheikh, and they are calling for accountability and justice.

In response to this grievous incident, the BJP Kashmir unit has initiated protests across every district, expressing their discontent and demanding action. The protesters have issued a stern warning to the administration, stating that if immediate action is not taken, the entire Kashmir unit will mobilize and march towards Shopian to stage a massive protest against the District Administration.

Ashok Bhat, speaking at the protest, emphasized the need for stringent measures to ensure the safety of BJP leaders and workers in the region. He called upon the authorities to take swift action and address the security lapses that have put the lives of political leaders at risk.
