Srinagar, May 06 : National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah Monday said hat PDP candidate for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat helped BJP in Article 370 abrogation.
Addressing a public meeting in Zachaldara Handwara of north Kashmir’s Kupwara, the NC leader and former chief minister Omar Abdullah as per (KNS) said that the PDP candidate from Baramulla Lok Sabha segment didn’t vote against abrogation of Article 370 in Rajya Sabha.
“PDP is answerable before people for why its candidate didn’t flag up the voice of Jammu and Kashmir when Article 370 was going to be abrogated. People should ask the candidate with the inkpot (symbol) who is contesting against me today where he was when Article 370 was put to vote in Rajya Sabha? BJP didn’t have majority in Rajya Sabha. He remained absent. He didn’t vote against abrogation of the Article 370,” Omar Abdullah said.
He said the absence of PDP candidate then helped ruling dispensation at New Delhi to nullify Article 370 and downgrade the status of Jammu and Kashmir into Union Territories.
Former CM in his address urged people of north Kashmir to realize their duty and exercise democratic right with keeping all senses active so that such elements do not reach to Parliament again. (KNS)
