Srinagar, June 24: Srinagar Municipal Corporation Saturday removed the illegally erected stalls outside JVC Hospital, Haj House, and Childrens Hospital in the Bemina area of Srinagar city.
The drive was launched by Ward 24 (Bemina) of SMC on the directions of Commissioner SMC Aamir Athar Khan.
An anti-encroachment squad of SMC arrived in Bemina and removed the encroachment. “People were complaining that vested interest elements have occupied the foot-paths and a vast space outside JVC Hospital, Haj House, and Childrens’ Hospital. Taking cognizance of these complaints, all these stalls were removed,” an official told news agency Kashmir News Trust.
He said the anti-encroachment drive will continue and nobody will be allowed to encroach the footpaths and space meant for the convenience of the general public. [KNT]
