Weatherman predicts more rains for next 2 days, improvement from June 3
Srinagar, May 31 : The intermittent rainfall on Wednesday lashed several parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, bringing down the mercury across the Union Territory while the weatherman here has predicted more rains till June 02.
The erratic weather conditions continued across J&K for the past over two weeks now, bringing down the maximum temperature in the Union Territory.
However, Director Meteorological department (MeT), Sonum Lotus told that there is a possibility of intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning at many places.
The possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds at a few places during the period cannot be ruled out, he said.
Nonetheless, the Director MeT predicted improvement in the weather conditions from June 3 onwards, saying that there is no major forecast of any major rainfall in J&K.
“The weather would remain mainly dry but rain and thunderstorms at isolated places can’t be ruled out,” he said.
Moreover, Lotus issued advisory for the farmers, advising them to suspend all the farm operations till June 02, 2023.
He further stated that the possibility of rain and snow may lead to temporary disruption of traffic over vulnerable places. “All concerned are advised to remain cautious and alert,” he said—(KNO)
